May Meeting Information

Officer Installation and
New Member “Rush”

May 20, 2009

6:00 p.m. – Social Time
6:30 p.m. – Dinner

Black Tie Café
116 North Main Street
Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311

This evening is intended to serve several purposes: AAUW/Logan County members will have the opportunity to meet in a social setting; officers will be installed for the 2009-10 AAUW year; and speakers will discuss women’s issues and AAUW’s goals and purposes.

The Branch is fortunate to have AAUW/Ohio President Diane Regan as the evening’s keynote speaker. Those who have heard Diane speak in other venues will attest to the passion and inspiration she brings to AAUW. All members are invited to bring a prospective member (or two or three!) to this event. (Remember that we decided last year to change the timing of our annual membership “rush.” The September meeting traditionally served as “new member night.”)

The evening also provides an opportunity to express members’ appreciation to retiring officers – Jamie Ross, Kim Hassel, Peggy Dishop, Carol Hartley, and Tammy Gump – and welcome new officers Holly Hefner, Alyson Stanford, Paige Duff, and Nominations Chair Carrie Reynolds. (Linda MacGillivray and Carol Parker continue in office, and, of course, we thank them as well.) AAUW/Logan County would not be the dynamic organization that it is without the efforts of those who agree to serve in leadership positions!

The charge will be $15.00/ person — and it will be worth every cent! This charge includes tax and gratuity. The menu features Black Tie’s special house salad, stuffed chicken breast, smashed red skinned potatoes, vegetables, French bread, assorted dessert bars and beverages.

Reservations must be made in advance by mailing a check, payable to AAUW/Logan County, to Martha O’Connor, 9027 O’Connor’s Point Drive, Belle Center, OH 43310. Reservations should be made by May 13.
